A Night’s Welcome
There are few moments more desperate than not knowing where you and your family will sleep tonight. Thankfully, for the 21 coldest weeks of the year, HELP coordinates a place for anyone to come and sleep somewhere that is safe and warm. 21 area churches open their doors to those in need and, with the help of many other congregations and organizations, provide two hot meals, toiletries, and community for individuals and families that find themselves stuck on the street.
“Last year, HELP provided over 6,600 bed nights of shelter for over 340 individuals, supported by nearly 17,000 hours of volunteer service from our community.”
“Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice...to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your home, when you see the naked, to cover them...”
